Define the Project

The first step is to team together so we understand the product or product enhancement your organization requires. Through a number of mechanisms, we very quickly begin to understand the scope of the project - telephone or conference calls, reviews of existing documentation, e-mail or onsite meetings as necessary. Whatever it takes! Due to the expert experience level of our staff, Rave Computer very rapidly begins to understand your objectives and formulates a team-driven initial plan.

Project Roadmap

The next step is for Rave Computer to develop a detailed plan for how we propose to approach the project. Our project plans include a statement of the work - a presentation of our understanding of the project and project requirements. In addition, we break the project down into a list of detailed tasks for completion. The task list helps communicate the details of the project. Rave assigns a man-day estimate to each task as a basis for our cost estimate. Finally, we include a schedule (or timeline) and present all discoveries on which we based our plan.

Review, Communicate, Evaluate

When the project is under way, frequent communication between Rave Computer and you, the customer, is one of the primary keys to success. During the early phases of development, Rave often conducts design reviews with you to make certain the product is headed in the right direction. Intermediate prototype deliveries provide further insurance the project is on the correct path. All throughout the development, Rave consults with you to ensure we address any design issues, and if necessary, offers a solution in line with your product vision and future goals. Many times these items are not issues at all, but merely simple design decisions. As a team, we prefer to make decisions in a manner consistent with the product's future in mind.

Implement

During the implementation phase of the project, you can be certain your project is in good hands. Through internal project management processes, Rave ensures we staff the project correctly and remain on schedule and budget. What this means to you is that we closely monitor every project and evaluate project requirements on a case-by-case basis. We make certain the correct skills are available and applied to your project based on the product delivery schedule. If an unplanned technical or design issue arises, we draw from our experienced staff and get the right individual onto your project team - an individual with the particular skills to resolve the issue quickly and efficiently. That's the advantage of working with Rave Computer - there are so many skills within our development team that allow us to quickly resolve any hardware or software issue, in most cases, no matter how difficult.

Changes Along the Way

As the project progresses, Rave Computer recognizes that change is normal. We perform most of our development projects on a fixed fee basis; ideally we iron out the project requirements and deliver a final product designed to these requirements when project completion occurs. However, it rarely happens this way. Change is a reality and we understand that at times project requirements change mid-stream. Rave's flexibility allows us to deal with these changes when they arise - we assess design impacts and quickly formulate a plan to move forward with the new requirements. Often we accommodate the changes with little overhead.

Final Delivery

Rave Computer works with your team throughout the project to ensure that on final delivery the product is capable of successful integration within your development environment. We maintain all supporting design files, documentation, and build instructions. After final delivery, Rave Computer is only a telephone call away to answer questions, or provide support you may need to make your product a success in the marketplace, or build additional systems - now and in the future.
