Rave Cable Connectors
SCSI and Fibre Cable Connectors
SCA 80 SCSI Interface
This 80-pin SCSI-2/SCSI-3 connector is used on the devices that connect internal peripherals to a differential or wide SCSI interface.
SCA = (Single-Connector-Attachment)
VHDCI 68 (SCSI-5)
This new SCSI interface is used on the latest systems with ULTRA 40/80/160 controllers and peripherals.
DB-68 (Differential or SCSI-3)
This 68-pin SCSI-3 connector is used on the cables that connect external peripherals to a differential or wide SCSI interface.
Mini-50 (SCSI-2)
This connector is a popular choice for new computers and peripherals. 50 pins are arranged in two rows.
DD-50SA (SCSI-1)
This connector is used on some third-party equipment and older Sun CPU’s. 50 pins are arranged in three rows.
Centronics 50 (SCSI-1)
This Centronics 50 connector was once quite common on third party peripherals.
Fibre Channel HSS8
This FC-AL interface is used for external hard drives. The physical medium is copper. Optical links are not supported.
Fibre Channel FC9
This FC-AL interface is used for external hard drives. The physical medium is copper. Optical links are not supported.
Monitor and Keyboard Connectors
HD-15 (Video)
This is currently the standard connector for PC monitors and video cards.
DB13W3 (Video)
This is currently the standard connector for Sun monitors and frame buffers.
4 x BNC (Video)
This connector is used on older monitors, frame buffers, and accelerators. Many third party monitors also have this connector.
DB-9 (Mono Video - obsolete)
This connector was used on most older monochrome monitors.
Mini DIN-8 (Keyboard)
This is the standard connector for type 4 and type 5 Sun keyboards.
DB-15 (Keyboard - obsolete)
This "D-Shell" connector was used for pre-sun4 keyboard connections, such as the Type-3 keyboard.

Common "PC" Connectors
USB, LPT/Parallel, PS/2 Keyboard & Mouse, Firewire (IEEE 1394), Ehternet, Audio, 9-pin Serial, 15-pin Serial, and Modem.

DB-25
This connector is used for some RS-232 and RS-423 serial connections. This is also used for the parallel connection on IBM printers.
Mini-26
This connector is used on the audio/AUI and parallel port connectors of the Sun SS10, LX, and parallel port of the Sun Classic.
Mini-26/DB-15
This connector is used to split the audio and AUI on the SS10 and LX machines.
Centronics 36
This connector is used for standard parallel Centronics printers similar to the Centronics 50, but not as wide.
Mini DIN-8
This connector is used for some serial ports, as well as audio, keyboards and mice.
DB-15 (AUI)
This standard AUI connector is used for network connections.
