Sun has a stake in Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) being successful. Sun partners with OEMs to produce state-of-the-art products for numerous industries (Telecommunications, Medical Imaging, Photo Processing, and many more).
In various instances, Sun offers technical integration of Sun's SPARC and Solaris based products. Sun works with OEMs to develop a Sun based system architecture that addresses specific needs of a project.
The Sun offerings include overall system architecture, high availability implementations and technical architecture/design, implementation, test and operational transition. Rave's customer can use these services to reduce their time to market.
OEMs can also take advantage of the products and services offered through an Authorized Sun OEM Technology Partner (OTP). The OTPs also have access to Sun's CPU, motherboards, and chip level technologies.
Sun authorizes an OTP to develop and create systems, solutions, or products that:
- use company manufactured, or has manufactured exclusively for it and supplies for sale or lease to its customers (or third parties) in the regular course of its business
- result from of the company's unique engineering experience and expertise in a particular industry or market
- incorporate functional characteristics similar to Sun's products, but that may contain custom, specialized, or enhanced functionality or features that are different from any products or technologies that Sun offers at the time of sale
- meet the applicable customer's specific requirements or specifications that Sun cannot otherwise meet through its own products
- incorporate, bundle, or embed Sun hardware products permanently
As a designated OTP, Rave Computer deploys professional resources to support projects, outsource manufacturing, project management, product development, multi-vendor hardware and software integration, testing, turnkey deployment, logistics, and maintenance services.
Rave Computer's suite of services includes custom product engineering and development, product branding, and legacy product management services.
